Like Fine Wine: Finding Strength and Purpose in the waiting
There is this quiet in between space that so many of us live in but rarely talk about. As women, creators, dreamers, and builders, we move through seasons that test us, seasons where we look at our effort, our sacrifice, our consistency, and still find ourselves asking, Why do I not have this yet, Why is it not happening for me, Why is it taking so long. Maybe you are showing up online, creating, selling, and serving. Maybe you are pouring into a business, a calling, a relationship, or even your own healing. And yet it still feels like you are waiting for something to finally click.
That place between where you are and where you want to be can feel heavy. Your patience gets stretched, your confidence feels tender, and your personal timeline starts to feel off. But there is a quiet beauty in the waiting and a purpose woven underneath it that you might not see yet.
I am reminded of the process of making wine, one of the most transformative journeys in nature. Before wine becomes something celebrated, smooth, and deeply valued, it goes through a long refining process. The grape is grown, then picked, then crushed, then pressed. After that, it sits in stillness, fermenting, developing, maturing. The grape does not get to skip any of these stages if it is to become wine. And tucked inside that process is a powerful truth, the longer the wait, the richer the wine. Not rushed, not forced, but richer in depth, in flavor, in value.
Our lives often follow the same rhythm. The waiting is not punishment, it is preparation. It is shaping your character, strengthening your resilience, sharpening your vision, and refining the parts of you that need time to rise. Some of the things you are asking for require a version of you that is still being formed. Sometimes the door is not closed, it is simply not time yet. The room you are praying to enter is still being prepared. The connections, the resources, the capacity, your own readiness, all of these are being aligned behind the scenes. Just like wine, you are being developed in the unseen.
What you do in the waiting matters. Some days your best will look like a full sprint, and other days it will look like one small action, one message sent, one idea shared, one honest conversation, or simply choosing hope when discouragement feels loud. Both seasons count. Every small act is seed work. Every quiet yes builds. Every decision to keep going becomes part of your testimony. You are not failing just because you are not always moving at full speed. You are human, and humans grow in seasons, not in straight lines.
So if you are in that in between right now, let this be your reminder to keep showing up, to keep choosing what is right even when it is hard, to keep honoring your journey even when it feels slow. Your effort has not gone unnoticed. Your sacrifices are not in vain. Your breakthrough is not late, it is being perfected. There is a version of you on the other side of this season who will look back and say, Now I see why it took time, now I see why it had to be this way.
Find joy in the waiting. Find strength in the refinement. Slow does not mean stuck, and not yet does not mean never. In your own time, the right time for you, everything you have been praying for, working toward, and quietly believing in will meet you fully, beautifully, and right on time. You are wine in the making, becoming richer, stronger, and more extraordinary with every season. You are not behind, you are becoming.
