Spring Cleaning for the Soul
Spring is almost here.
And every time this season comes around, I am reminded of something simple but deeply comforting. Renewal is always possible.
There is something about spring that gently invites us to slow down and look inward. It encourages us to pause long enough to notice what we have been carrying emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, and ask ourselves if it still belongs with us in this season of our lives.
Sometimes it is:
1. Old habits
2. Disappointment we never fully allowed ourselves to heal from
3. Resentment
4. Fear
5. Relationships that leave us feeling more drained than loved
6. Quiet thoughts that keep whispering that we are not ready yet
All of those things take up space.
And the truth is it becomes difficult to receive anything new when your hands, heart, and mind are already full.
That is why spring is such a meaningful reminder. It shows us that letting go is not always loss. Sometimes it is wisdom. Sometimes it is obedience. Sometimes it is simply recognizing that certain things were meant for a season, not a lifetime.
Not everything we have held onto is meant to come with us.
And that can be difficult to accept, especially when we have grown used to carrying it. Even pain can become familiar. Even heaviness can start to feel normal when it has been with us long enough.
But God never asks us to hold onto something that is preventing us from growing.
Sometimes the very thing we are gripping tightly is the very thing He is asking us to release.
Not because He wants to take something from us, but because He wants to create space for what is coming next.
1. Space for peace
2. Space for healing
3. Space for clarity
4. Space for new opportunities
5. Space for new strength
6. Space for new direction
7. Space for new joy
That is what makes this season so beautiful. Spring reminds us that growth often begins with clearing away what is no longer alive. Before anything blooms, something must be pruned. Before new life appears, what is dry or stagnant must be removed.
And while pruning does not always feel comfortable, it is never without purpose.
It is preparation.
It is God gently creating space in our lives for the things that will help us grow into who we are meant to become.
But alignment does not happen by accident. It requires honesty with ourselves. It requires stillness. It requires being willing to come before God and ask for wisdom and discernment. The ability to recognize what belongs in our lives during this season and what no longer does.
That kind of surrender is not weakness. It is faith.
So maybe this season is a good time to ask yourself a few honest questions.
1. What have I been holding onto that God may be asking me to release?
2. What in my life is taking up space but not bearing fruit?
3. What would change if I trusted that making room is the first step toward receiving what God has for me next?
Because sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is open our hands.
Sometimes the bravest step forward is choosing to stop holding onto what no longer fits.
And sometimes the greatest act of faith is trusting that if God is asking us to release something, it is only because He knows what He wants to place in our hands instead.
Spring is almost here.
Let it be a reminder that you do not have to carry everything into the next season.
1. You are allowed to release.
2. You are allowed to clear space.
3. You are allowed to trust God with what comes next.
What He has for you will never miss you.
So clear the space, release what was never meant to stay, and trust that what God has for you will always find its way into the room you create. 🌿
Love,
Linda
