When It Doesn’t Make Sense

There are seasons in life where nothing quite adds up.

The timing feels off. The doors close without warning. The prayers you’ve been praying seem to echo back unanswered. And suddenly, you’re left standing in the middle of pieces you don’t know how to put together.

You try to make sense of it.

You replay the situation. You look for the reason. You ask the questions.

Why did this happen?
Why now?
Why not yet?
Why does it feel like everything is out of place?

And still, some things simply do not make sense in the moment.

But maybe they’re not supposed to.

Sometimes, what you’re holding is only one piece of a much bigger picture. And one piece by itself can look confusing. It can look random. It can even look wrong.

But one piece is not the whole story.

That’s where faith comes in.

Faith is not always having the full explanation. It’s not always knowing what comes next. It’s not always feeling confident because everything around you is clear and comfortable.

Sometimes, faith is choosing to trust God while the picture is still incomplete.

It’s trusting Him in the waiting.
Trusting Him in the unanswered questions.
Trusting Him in the season where nothing looks the way you thought it would.

And that can be hard.

Because if we’re honest, we like clarity. We like plans. We like knowing where things are going before we fully surrender to the process.

But God does not always hand us the full map.

Sometimes, He gives us just enough light for the next step. Not because He is withholding from us, but because He is teaching us to walk with Him — not just toward an outcome, but through the process.

There are moments when God allows you to sit with the pieces that do not fit yet. Not to confuse you. Not to punish you. Not to leave you stuck.

But to grow you.

To stretch your trust beyond what you can explain.
To deepen your faith beyond what you can see.
To remind you that He is still working, even when you cannot trace His hand.

Because the truth is, everything is working together — even when it looks scattered.

Even when it feels delayed.
Even when it feels uncomfortable.
Even when it looks like nothing is moving.

What you’re experiencing right now may not make sense today, but that does not mean it is meaningless.

There is purpose in the waiting.
There is intention in the unfolding.
There is growth happening in the quiet places.
There is a bigger picture being formed — one you may not fully see until later.

And when you finally do, you may realize that what felt like a delay was actually protection. What felt like rejection was redirection. What felt like confusion was God carefully arranging things in ways you could not understand yet.

His ways are not our ways.
His timing is not our timing.
His process is not always predictable.

And honestly, that is where the challenge lies.

Can you trust Him when you do not understand?

Can you stay anchored when life feels uncertain?

Can you believe that what feels mismatched now will come together in a way only He could have orchestrated?

Because it will.

The pieces will align. The story will make sense. The confusion will give way to clarity. And one day, you will look back and see that God was present in every part of it — even the parts that felt unfinished, uncomfortable, and unclear.

But until then, trust Him in the middle of it.

Trust Him when the pieces do not fit.
Trust Him when the picture is not clear.
Trust Him when the answer has not arrived.
Trust Him when the timing feels different than what you wanted.

Trust Him anyway.

Because what does not make sense now… will.
