Article: Give Them Their Flowers

Give Them Their Flowers

Give Them Their Flowers

One thing I've been learning lately is this.

Never assume people know how much they mean to you.

Life moves so quickly that we often believe there will always be another opportunity to say thank you. Another chance to send that text. Another family dinner. Another phone call. Another "I love you."

But tomorrow isn't promised.

I've been thinking about all the people God has placed in my life who have quietly shaped who I am today. Family members who prayed for me when I didn't even know they were praying. Friends who stayed when life wasn't easy. Mentors who believed in me before I believed in myself.

Sometimes we get so focused on chasing the next milestone that we forget to stop and honor the people who helped us get here.

Give them their flowers while they can still receive them.

Not at a funeral.

Not in a tribute after they're gone.

Today.

A simple "I'm thankful for you" might seem small to you, but it could mean everything to someone else.

We rarely know what someone is carrying behind closed doors. The person who always smiles might be fighting a battle they've never told anyone about. The friend who keeps showing up for everyone else might be wondering if anyone notices them.

Never underestimate the power of making someone feel seen.

A genuine compliment.

A thoughtful message.

A handwritten note.

A quick phone call.

Sometimes that's all it takes to remind someone that their life matters.

One of the things I love most about Jesus is that He constantly saw people others overlooked. He noticed them. He valued them. He reminded them that they were worthy of love long before they believed it themselves.

What if we chose to do the same?

What if we became people who celebrated others generously instead of assuming they already knew how much they were appreciated?

Kindness costs so little, but it can leave an eternal impact.

So here's your little reminder this week.

Send the text.

Make the call.

Write the card.

Say thank you.

Tell someone you love them.

Celebrate the people who have made your life brighter, not because it's their birthday or a special occasion, but simply because they're here.

One day you'll either be grateful you said the words while you had the chance...

or you'll wish you had.

Give them their flowers today.

With Love,
Linda
